What this is: a fifteen-episode Candy Shorts series, and the only one in the catalogue that gives you three free episodes instead of two. 12 tokens an episode after that.
Best for: slow-burn stepbrother drama with more backstory than usual.
The Premise
Simona Rossi is a college dropout with a complicated relationship with her stepbrother. A run of shady ex-boyfriends, parents who have got very strict with her, and on top of all that, feelings for her stepbrother she is not supposed to have.
It is more backstory than most series give their lead: the exes, the parents, the dropping out. That is what fifteen episodes buys, a character who has a life before the premise starts.
Three Free Episodes, and Series Number 1
Of the 124 series on Candy Shorts, 123 give you two free episodes. This one gives you three. It is also, going by its address on the site, series number 1, which suggests it is the oldest in the catalogue.
Episodes 1 to 3 are free with no account, and they are the slow part, sensual rather than explicit. Episodes 4 to 15 need Premium at 12 tokens each, 144 tokens to finish, a little under a month and a half of allowance.
What stands out from the two free episodes: premise is soft, no nudity, no leaks, no sex scenes, as is usually the case with free content. However, despite the plot setup, there isn’t an immediate steamy escalation in the story that draws you into Episode 3, or rather, Episode 4, since Episode 3 is also free with a premium subscription. The tension really builds in the subsequent episodes.
Pros and Cons
✔️ Three free episodes, one more than anything else on the platform.
✔️ Fifteen episodes with a lead who has an actual backstory.
✔️ No account needed for the free part.
✔️ The standard 12-token rate.
✔️ Simona also leads My Neighbor’s Husband Works Nights! if you want more of her.
➖ 144 tokens to finish.
➖ A slow start, which is the point.
Verdict
The fairest trial on Candy Shorts: three free episodes on a series long enough to deserve them. A good first series if you are not sure the format is for you, at least you can admire the production quality of these shorts.
